Missed my stop today, and ended up at Hoyt Street, which is actually one of those stations that do not connect directly to its Brooklyn-bound counterpart. So I had to go aboveground to look for another station, and as I was walking around, I was liek, “Wait, Fulton? …Fulton…Fulton Mall…

And yeah, I was in the shopping distract right near Tech. I eventually found the DeKalb Ave station, and it was kinda nostalgic, but I was mostly pissed that I had to use $2.50 more on transportation today. :| And it is so typical of my luck that I got off on one of those stops that don’t connect to the returning train. -_-

Wikipedia. Still Norse, is female. I wonder if all summons are the other gender from the summoner? Shiva is clearly female in the game despite being transgender/primarily referred to as male mythologically.
Actually, I’m also wondering if the name “Sazh” has anything to do with fire.

For the record, I think this is a bad idea. Flair started out as something fun and goofy, and now that RL money has entered the equation, it gives me a bad taste in my mouth. You use RL money for stuff like eljay, where you are actually paying for the cost of bandwidth and to help run the site. RL monies on Flair? Have they made a deal with Facebook, Inc. to hep facebook make money to offset the costs of running the site? I can’t think of any other legit reason.
And you can buy flair points with those selfsame RL monies now, which…well, one of the things that was attractive about Flair was that if you had an insane amt of flair points, you had them because you have no life and spent ridiculous amts of your free time on this thing. Now high flair points have basically become meaningless because you can buy them. Sort of like MMORPG currency; there are those who get gil/gald/gold by grinding/actually spending time on the game, and then there are those who buy them, and it just…takes away from the experience. I mean, if flair meant so much to you, I’d think you’d want to spend time on the game, not throw money at it. :/ And while I do understand helping to keep the thing going…you’re not donating to keep the thing going, you’re spending money on an aspect of the game that…

ETA3: A-actually, I’m a little leery about this movie since a) it’s based on a manga, b) it involves domestic abuse, and c)…it may very well be three movies. If it’s like the Taiga Roman series, fine, but if I’m going to need all three movies for the comprehensive plot…@_@ Although it’s doubtful I’d understand much of it anyway, so that’s ok I guess. x)
ETA4: OH MY SHIT!! I was thinking this (low-quality) still image from one of the trailers looks like Miura Riki from the right angle, and went to the Cast/Staff page to see, and IT REALLY IS HIM!! OMFG ~dies~
YO HANAONI CASTING PEOPLE. If Araki’s character and Miura’s character are the favorite yaoi couple in the manga’s fandom, I will laugh so hard.
ETA4.5: I saw him! In the one trailer I can actually view (I think the others got taken down from youtube?) I saw Miura briefly. His character’s and Araki’s were getting in a fight. xD That’s even more hilarious.
ETA5: Gods, for srs, man, if Araki’s character inflicted the knife wounds we see on Rina’s character, I don’t think I want to see this movie, despite all my squee at the cast. I mean, this is about Rina’s character gradually falling in love with Araki’s character, I assume, and I just don’t think anything where a girl is falling for her abuser is compelling or worth seeing. To the movie’s credit, in the trailer I saw she said to his face (well she said it to his back) that she hated him. Also she ran to someone (a stranger, I assume) for help (“tatsukete”) and she isn’t exactly going “I LOVE YOU ABUSE ME SOME MOAR 8D.” But, I mean. Really. And in the other trailer, a girl was being held down while the guy was preparing to kill her so to me it’s just like “WHY HELLO THERE VICTIMIZATION OF WOMEN. HAVE SOEM EROTIC VIOLENCE” akin to the Romance style of art where it was all women fainting or dying in erotic ways (with her body at full tension and the tops of her boobs and neck exposed, for instance). But in the Araki-Rina trailer in one scene he was all bloody too, and screaming, so idek anymore. @_@ What I mean is, if I could see it first and then decide whether I want to buy it, I’d prefer that.
But I think I saw a few instances where the human men were disapproving of what Araki’s character is doing (Miura’s character may be one of them, idk. But Miura’s character is an oni. Which kind of makes it more powerful, actually, that even oni don’t think it’s ok) which kind of redeems it a little more, I guess. Because with stuff like this, you gotta create foils, and standards of right and wrong. I just hate the thought that this will turn out like Twilight, where rape and domestic abuse (which includes rape) is acceptable, desired, even, by women. That is simply fucked up. And I will not condone anything that supports that twisted idea. Even if Araki is in it. Especially if Araki is in it.
ETA6: Ooooh, the poster is pretty. But…why is Rina so much smaller than Araki is on the page? From a graphic design standpoint, that’s just…bad graphic design. >_> The top of her head should be by his neck or cheek! Her shoulder should come close to touching the word “oni”! What kind of balance scale are you even using?! @_@

There’s this annoying person on eljay who keeps asking basic questions about the FF7 anthology. Like what format FF7 was originally in (-_-) and why Genesis appears in the end of Dirge (and who Weiss even is).
And I’m just like, “…I see people these days haven’t heard about Wikipedia.” I mean, this takes you two fucking seconds to look up and Wiki gives you basically all the information you need to start with, instead of say, spamming the comm with your incessant, basic questions. People these days are too lazy to do their own research but would willingly spend more time trying to get the answers from a fan’s community. Are you fucking serious. Just. asdfghjkl; KIDS THESE DAYS THEY HAVE NO SENSE

I have so many versions of Classical Greek texts (by diff. translators). It’s a little ridiculous. @_@ I need to get rid of them. If I take more Greek next semester I’m going to shoot myself in the head. Not that I don’t like Greek, it’s just that I never imagined myself a scholar in Greek, and when it comes to it I’d rather take general/world Folklore or more Asia-centered stuff (like that Chinese Classical Cultures I wanted).
