…I can make this work if I make it vampires v. werewolves. But I refuse to touch even the idea of vampires just in case someone (possible reader, I mean) decides to get all fangirly for the thing-that-shall-not-be-named-in-my-presence and I end up killing her/him with an explosive pen. Just sayin’.

Anyone know any technological urban legends?
ETA4: Oh, oh, “modern” thing—mutants. I can’t exactly call them that, though…gene-babies? But then the eat-reproduce divide still stands….

When I saw it on the library shelves, I was liek, “OH HEY A TUI T. SUTHERLAND BOOK. \o/” It wasn’t until I opened the book to read the blurb that I realized it was the third Avatars (NOT to be confused with Avatar:The Last Airbender) book. :|
Having two different styles for one series of book (meaning the style of the covers changed mid-series, not that the series has two sets of covers depending on the version) seems self-defeating, to me. And tbh, I hate the cover art of the third book. I thought the art of the first books was very fitting, because the books deal with ancient gods so the drawn, caricature-ish style, and key-pattern borders fitted the theme nicely. The new “modern” modernist cover is just…ugh. I really hate it, for srs. Not because I hate the whirly abstract stuff floating around a photograph of a blonde girl, but because it seems to me that Sutherland might be trying to “expand” her reader base by making use of stuff that’s popular right now (THINK REALLY HARD ABOUT THAT TITLE) at the book’s expense. I hope her writing hasn’t been affected by this, because if it has…I will just drop the book with no regret and pretend Book 2 ended the series, cliffhanger be damned.
mom, dad, and grandma are watching a Rambo flick. Which is hilarious because these days, you always hear “older generations” complaining about “younger generation” movies being all violent and gratuitous and here are my parents and grandparent, watching a Rambo movie while sister 1 and sister 2 watch weepy (J-, K-, C-)dramas about cancer, brother watches cartoons, and I watch super sentai.

Combined with Sarah-babe’s grandmother’s cackling at Walker, Texas Ranger, I think we can safely say those older gen-younger gen complaints are completely out of proportion.
there are actually a whole (okay, a small) bunch of fics in my notebook, but I just haven’t wanted to type them. :( The majority (well ok, maybe half) of them are pretty good, too! I think I have some kind of typing anxiety because I type essays for school. >_>;;;;;
Also, I finished a book today! Now starting on the book I named “Nirvana,” which has truly awesome paper. ♥♥
FUCK I made a mistake. There’s more than a week of nightshift to go! D: But I’d got Mele to the point where she would do it then, and if she bypassed it, she…wouldn’t do it at all this nightshift…Dx
Facebook is becoming increasingly overrated. Okay, it changed the layout because some profiles were becoming way too clogged. I get that. But before we have time to even get used to it, facebook rolled out a new set of changes that I can see neither rhyme nor reason for, and it’s become, to say it simply: fucking ridiculous. I thought the point of sites like facebook was to have a PROFILE, to look up your friends’ interests or your shared friends or whatever. It seems I was wrong; now it’s all about “ZOMG PERSONALIZE YOUR FEEDS ZOMG APPS ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG SHINY” Since when has facebook been trying to turn itself into the new chat? Because right now it just fails on so many levels. >|

In other news, Nightwish’s Century Child is pretty awesome. \o/ Too bad the FYE near me packed up and left, though. I would’ve bought it. Not that there aren’t other music stores near me, but for the most part, I don’t find them entirely…savory? Not that they sell bootlegs, I just don’t feel like I want to go in? Because I might get made fun of if it’s a specialty store (it’s happened before). :(
Utada’s “Come Back to Me” MV makes me happyyyyyyy \o/

The outfits are a bit ridiculous (lol) but on the other hand, I like them. The MV overall was pretty good (I especially like that the acting was very good. :3 But the awesome editting choices weren’t anything to sneeze at, either). <3

The one-week reminder at imaginarybeasts just reminded me. I was writing a story for the theme “Carnivale” and, needing a name, used my default of “Mari” (after “Mary,” after “Mary Sue).
There’s a character in Kamen Rider 555 named “Mari,” so I named my character’s companion “Takumi.” They were just supposed to be throwaway names for my characters, but SOMEHOW my story turned into a Kamen Rider 555/Kamen Rider Kiva/Kamen Rider Kabuto crossover fanfic when Mari encounters some dude named “Kurenai,” introduces herself with the false name of “Mio,” and then gets accosted by some guy named “Tendou” where she has a conversation about the Fangire and Orphnoch factions in the room.
