The weird thing…

October 31, 2007lyfeNo Comments

Yesterday night, before I turned on the computer at the middle of the night to watch Avatar, I had this crushing string of emo thoughts. Looking back, I think the trigger may have been the shock of Allen’s hair (or lack thereof). No, rly.

Avatar TLA thoery in general

October 31, 2007Misc.No Comments

Everyone’s been raving about Aang’s firebending teacher, but I don’t think he’ll have one, at all. More on this in the proper hours of the morning/afternoon, if the latest episodes don’t prove me wrong.

***Contains possible SPOILERS***

EDIT: So about that firebending teacher. After the end of Book Earth, I was like, “wait, guys, remember that Jeong-Jeong’s still alive.”

But after watching Book Fire, the more I become convinced that Aang isn’t going to have a firebending teacher. Because while the last books were all building up to this glorious fight, several of the Book Fire episodes were not about fighting; they were about reform. In “The Headband,” Aang taught the oppressed kids to dance. When he had to get away, the kids helped him by tying their own sashes around their heads to confuse the teachers. Aang’s legend is not so much about Aang the Avatar, it’s about other things, like when Aang learned Roku’s history and gleaned the message that everyone, in the end, are people. And I keep getting this feeling like Zuko will become Aang’s firebending arm. Especially with what Iroh said, about Zuko being their redemption or something (‘course, Iroh doesn’t know Aang’s still alive, either.) And this bridges with why the show has focused on both Aang and Zuko from the very beginning: instead of having a previously-thought villian suddenly (and sometimes randomly) change his mind, we see how Zuko gets there. This is Zuko’s legend as much as Aang’s, which I think is important.

…If that makes any sense.

It’s probably too late, anyway, since the last ep, 3×09, us the day before the invasion. While I have no doubt there are a gajillion things that will happen during or after the invasion, the time of preparation is pretty much over, which reduces the likelihood of a “teacher” stepping in this late in the game. And if they do, it’d be brief, like Sokka’s swordmaster.

***CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

This episode was so fanservice-y! Swimwear! Party-wear! And I loved it. <3333

Man, do all Avatar old ladies speak in concert? It’s like listening to a frickin choral reading….

I laughed when Zuko slung off his robe/cloak thing and all the birds were flying by in the background. And that after the Zuko/Mei awkwardness, too!! xDD (And although this sounds really weird, I’m even becoming fond of the couple. Like, whut. o_o;;;)

Azula+Zuko teamwork is win++++ <3333

Azula is hot with her hair down. <33

Azula’s weird-ass comments are awesome. “Um, cause it’s so sharp.” xDD And that irked look on her face. <3

Whoe. Azula-Tai Li heart-to-heart. Azula being a girl (and not, say, monster). Azula being nice to Tai Li (like friend and not lackey). I’m…flabbergasted. Though I guess that’s why there was so much of that “reveal your true nature on Ember Island” stuff in the script, even though the fact that they were on vacation would’ve done that, easily. But they’re acting so out of context that I guess they thought they needed to reinforce it.

“Together, we will be the strongest couple in the world. WE WILL DOMINATE THE EARTH!” xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD Oh, Azula.

Typical that as soon as I become fond of this couple, they break up. ~sigh~
Um. never mind. False alarm? yep, false alarm.

Sokka the long-haired, w00t!!

Whoe. Campfire confessions. At first I thought Azula’s lack of sob story would make her a little more sinister, but it was great writing by making her say what she did. And campfire confessions makes for an awesome bonding scene, where only these kids could think of trashing the party as “memorable.” =_=;; Loved the still at the very end, though. That was hottttttt. Also worked to flesh out Tai Li and Mei, which was awesome.

…Damn.

The KH TCG scares me a little, with how awesome it looks. o_o

Mid-life crisis, according to Mr. Ducky

October 30, 2007Misc.No Comments

“Where’s Mr. Ducky?”

“He’s going through a mid-life crisis and doesn’t wish to be disturbed. Would you like to leave a message, or call back later?”

“Tell him I need him right now!”

“That’s what everyone says, ma’am. Would you like to leave a message, or try calling back later?”

“You’re a mechanized message, aren’t you?”

“No, ma’am, I’m not. Would you like to leave a message, or try calling back later?”

“Who are you, anyway?”

“I’m Daisy Creampuff. Mr. Ducky’s receptionist.”

“Receptionist? I didn’t know—Listen girly, I really need him….”

“That’s what all the girls say, ma’am. And please, he’s in the middle of a mid-life crisis and doesn’t wish to be disturbed.”

What mid-life crisis, for God’s sake—”

“He’s feeding the hens.”

WHAT?!”

“Yes, well, ma’am, you’ve never met those hens.”

“That’s it; get him on right now or I’ll—”

“You’ll what, Miss Goat?”

Mr. Ducky!

“Whatever it is, can it wait? I’m feeding the hens.”

WHAT–”

“It’s a mid-life crisis. I swore to myself I wouldn’t feed those hens until I reached the midle of my life. You understand.”

“No, I don’t! If you don’t–”

Click.

Bet you don’t see THAT everyday….

>>What class are you taking? Did you see Allen W at SVA?

No, I never do. See, he doesn’t have a class at all when I take mine, and SVA has like, a gajillion buildings, so even if he did, there’s still only a tiny chance I’d see him, anyway. Sorry. =p But did you see his hair. ~suicides~

I take Drawing, btw.

Losing my phonestrap

October 28, 2007lyfe1 Comment

So Friday was raining, right? So I’m walking to class with umbrella in one hand, bag in other, when I feel my CC phonestrap fall. Guess where it happened. In the middle of the street. OTL

Since, y’know, you’re never supposed to just stop in the middle of the frickin street, especially when the light is flashing, I walked the rest of the way to the curb and looked at my phone and back out into the street to confirm it was really gone. I considered walking back out when the light changed again, but since I had my hands full and wouldn’t have been able to pick it up anyway, and the building was right there, I dropped my bag of at the building and walked back out to get it.

I found it, fortunately. Unfortunately, it fell smack! in the middle of the street, and got run over a couple of times. It’s a little worn now, but at least I still have it.

I’ve always wondered how people manage to keep their phonestraps. Mine fall out or break no matter what I do. ><;; So guys, what’s the secret?

Aw fuck it, I’ll just leave it as is.

Choosing the Tool By Which to Shape Destiny

Sucks. Like, a lot. But better than the wannabe-fantasy stuff I used to do. =_=;; I kinda don’t want to associate with this anymore, since it’s so fucking typical of a fantasy piece. If I can change it into something worthy, I might include it in NaNonovel, but otherwise….

_The Danger in Trusting Strangers

October 24, 2007Misc., writingsNo Comments

Okei, I lied. I actually had two originals. Here’s one of them:

The Danger in Trusting Strangers

Fantasy, like always. But while not very long, it’s (needlessly) rambly. =_=;;;;

I have a niggling feeling about that title. I think it actually exists, somewhere. Should I rename it “The Danger in Trusting Foreign Princes”? “The Danger in Trusting Deluded Daughters”? “The Foreign Prince”? Hrmmmn.

Fics in Production (or FiP, ~snerk~)

October 24, 2007Misc., writingsNo Comments

FF12:

As per a reviewer’s request, I’ve been thinking of FF12 fics. I actually have two in the works; one promises to be a long…monstrosity, and the other is an Ashe/Penelo that I don’t really know how to develop. Part of it was trying to place the setting (although, if I neglected the setting altogether, it’d still work because the fic can take place anywhere. It’d just be (for me) uncomfortably vague.) Part of it is that I have a little bit of trouble with characterization. ><;;

The long thing involves Larsa, an assassination attempt, and Rozarria, but even I don't know all the details. -_- I have to stop doing that. But if I stopped doing that, the fic would never get written because I am afraid of long things. (I wrote an outline for Blind. You’ve never read it because I never wrote it. =_=;;;) When I started this…monstrosity, I had no idea what it would snowball into. Which I guess is a good thing? …Gah.

And Fran wanted something earlier, but I forgot how it went. I still have its prompt, but the more I look at it, the more I lose the original vision of the fic. xT

Yuugiou GX:

Fubuki/Ryo! At first I thought it was just going to be a short, simple PWP. But then it wanted to be something else and twisted under my fingers. Now it’s something a little long and a little complicated. When I thought of its prompt, I didn’t even know Fubuki and Ryo had a relationship. But I found myself enjoying working out the dynamics. (Once, I was downstairs eating when a paragraph from this thing struck me. I had to run upstairs very quickly to get my book. But, alas, as soon my pen hit paper, the vision, perfectly formed in my mind, fell apart when I tried to put it to paper. TT^TT I still have the idea of it, but it just isn’t the same.) And, increasingly, I find myself more a fan of this couple. Funny how that happens. =_=;;

Crisis Core:

I’ve been trying to think of a place for some Aerith/Zack smut. Then it hit me: inside Cloud’s head. ~snerk~ Because Zack’s memories invariably turn Cloud into a peeping Tom, yes. <3

Kingdom Hearts:

Something new pops up everyday. Best to not even ask. =_=

Original:

This little niggling thing that reminds me, uncomfortably, a lot like Harry Potter. But then, I remember something my prof said: “Someone who is seen as ‘original’ is just very good at covering his tracks” (or something like that). While we took a moment to digest that, he laughed and said there was no such thing being original. So this original thing will be posted as soon as I clean it up.

>>”I meant your motivation to write things in general, you know, journal, fiction, and pr0n altogether XD.

It’s hard for me to put my ideas down, and it takes forever for me to write on my blog ’cause I gotta correct a lot of mistakes and use a thesaurus to improve on what I write before I post it.”

I never seem to have that problem. ._. With my blog(s), I just put down whatever the fuck, read it, and if I need to change something I go back and edit it. Besides, a spellchecker seems built into my Firefox, and underlines any mispelt things in red (if they’re in input boxes). Makes it easier for me to check things. And I’m sorta obsessive, so I tend to read my posts over and over, so I tend to catch a lot of mistakes that way. xD;;

webster.com I use in (fan)fiction-writing. When my word prosesser is out, webster.com is usually open, too. <3

I have no idea where my affinity with writing comes from. Actually, the reason I put Media before ID was because of Journalism. But that was before I realized how a) Media was so awesome, and b) how much Journalism sucked. ~snerk~

I think the reason I post so much is because I'm actually very talkative, but I have no one to talk to so I write things down. Well, I guess "talkative" isn't the right word, more like I like being heard read. With writing I have more control than if I were talking, and when you compare my writings to my speaking, you’d hardly believe I were the same person because I utterly suck at talking/speaking. xDDD

>>”You only go to class on Friday? Are you a part-time student?
I was wondering what college you go to.”

I’m actually not in college, period. I paid for a class for Undergraduate credit at SVA, but when I say, “go to college proper,” I mean when I re-apply for the Spring term. Please don’t ask me how this came to be. I’m just an idiot. :(
