Sazh I understand since JP-language Sazh had a husky voice too, to give the impression of old age through voice. But everyone? Come on. This is like those old dubbed anime where everyone and their mothers sounded like they’d been sipping too much spicy juice. I’m sorry but every time I listen to a dub with an overabundance of hoarseness, I just think they don’t know what they’re doing.
VAs should be able to act without feeling like they have to cover up their voices through a filter of imposed hoarseness. Just sayin’
Like the song, don’t like how it was implemented. Then again, I wasn’t feeling Kimi Ga Iruka on the JP version of this trailer either, so I guess it balances out.
ETA: …Speaking of FF13, it took me 56789 tries to beat Odin and after hitting on a method that worked, I’ve been calling Hope “Sharkbait.” :DDD And then I started using it as a term for characters whose only function was to stay alive while the rest of the party wailed on the enemy. |D There’s even an optima for that very purpose. pfff

I wonder why. :< Probably because the Badass character, in any situation, will be the one recklessly jumping out of a breaking vehicle to do badassery things: in the trailer, Snow remained clinging to the vehicle (presumably waiting for a moment to go save Vanille and Hope) while Lightning and Fang jump out to be badass. I want to make an educated guess about Vanille's summon but can't. Most of the summons are related to the character's name (Lightning→Odin, Snow→Shiva, Fang→Bahamut, Hope→Alexander. I have no idea how Sazh is related to Brunhildr, though) but her name is Vanille. ._. Looking at the elements already taken, Vanille’s summon’s element may be darkness, which would be ttly awesome :D but I doubt it, lol

There’s this annoying person on eljay who keeps asking basic questions about the FF7 anthology. Like what format FF7 was originally in (-_-) and why Genesis appears in the end of Dirge (and who Weiss even is).
And I’m just like, “…I see people these days haven’t heard about Wikipedia.” I mean, this takes you two fucking seconds to look up and Wiki gives you basically all the information you need to start with, instead of say, spamming the comm with your incessant, basic questions. ETA2: If Sazh’s summon is Surt, that would be pretty awesome, since Lightning-Odin: King of the Gods <==> Sazh-Surt: Leader of those who oppose the Aesir (in Ragnorak). If all characters had that kind of thing going with another character, that would be awesome. :D Snow’s a little tricky, though, since his summon is Shiva, who is god of an opposite pair (destruction + rebirth) ._. But Shiva the summon is made of two entities (black+white) so idek how an opposite would work or if se’s meant to be hir own opposite within the summon itself or something like that. Or someone has a summon of Kali (Shiva’s wife), but probably not. xD
Although I have a feeling Sazh has Surt because according to Wikipedia his name means “the black one” in Old Norse, which is meh.
ETA3: Also, in regards to the summons, the Ragnorak thing is apt, from what we’ve seen of the trailer. The Gestalt summons all reflect this (Shiva – destruction, Odin – foretold Ragnorak, Surt – battled the gods). But this means that the developers really thought hard about the summons and the mythology the summons come from, which may or may not be the case.

…also, I may end up getting two copies of this, if the NA ver doesn’t include dual voice tracks. Both the JP and ENG voice acting sounds awesome so far. @_@;;
