I read some things about covers on some book blogs that really pissed me off.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover yadda yadda”

PROTIP, authors: I’m not going to read an entire book in order to determine whether or not I want to read your book.

Do any of you read? The cover and blurb is there for a reason. I’m not going to sit in my pathetic little corner of joblessness reading every little piece of shit I don’t like in order to find a genre/premise that interests me. Because apparently using the tools that aid me in finding books I’m interested in is now “disrespectful to the author” or something. Bullshit.

It’s why things like the Cindy Pon cover thing pissed me right the fuck off even if I hated the book. Ms. Pon, your heroine is Chinese-ish in a fantasy world based on China, so we’ll put a white girl on your covers!!

COVERS ARE IMPORTANT, and this stupid bullshit about covers not mattering is idiotic from my perspective as a reader and as someone who has dabbled in graphic design.

Okay you know, I was a little unsettled by Serah’s new outfit b/c of how blatantly fanservicey* it was, but hey, if she wants to wear it (aside from the problems that she isn’t actually the one choosing her own clothing, I mean, but that line of thinking gets very silly very fast), that’s cool.

Then I watched a walkthrough of FF13-2 and got up to the part where she didn’t put that thing on herself; it ~*magically*~ appeared on her.
